INFERNO OF TORTURE (69) aka Shogun�s Sadism: Inferno of Torture; Tokugawa Tattoo History: Torture Hell; Tokugawa Irezumi Shi Seme Jigoku. When a movie opens with a scene of a crucified woman being speared through the heart, sending a geyser of blood shooting into the spearman�s face, and that�s followed by a scene of a screaming woman buried up to her neck in the dirt getting her head cut off by two guys with a crosscut saw, it�s a pretty safe bet that the movie is by Tokyo�s Emperor of Extremism, Tesuo Ishii (Shogun�s Joy of Torture, Oxen Split Torturing, Yakuza�s Law). This time out the Master of Mayhem gives us a hellish whorehouse of tattooed tarts (complete with cool black light body art) and an absolutely amazing ending where a woman is tied upside down between two bent saplings and the ropes are cut simultaneously causing her to be split in half down the middle while flying up into the air! It�s like some horrifying misogynist magic trick! Letterboxed and English subtitled print. (C)

NAKED BLOOD (95) aka Splatter; Megayuku. Notorious gorefest about a geeky kid who attempts to carry on his dead scientist dad�s research in creating the ultimate pain killer. He succeeds all too well producing "Myson" a concoction that actually transforms sensations of pain into feelings of ultimate euphoria. His mom, also a scientist, is doing a study on a new contraceptive so he decides to slip his potion into the mix and follow her sexy female lab rats around to see what happens. One by one the girls start hacking and cutting on themselves, with one gal going so far as cutting off her nipples and vaginal lips and eating them and then pulling out one of her eyeballs and eating it too!
